I have found that FB will only register "likes" made from personal profile, so what I do is like from my personal page...drop a note like "Hi from AF...", then I either go to "link" and enter my "Page URL" click "Attach" which attaches my logo and a link to my "Page" or I will complete the note by typing @AMDesignsbyAngela which creates a link within the note...after you type @ a drop down will appear after you type the next character, your page name should be in the drop down list...

So just to recap..."like" from your personal page and then provide a link to your "Page (Fan Page, Business Profile)" either by using the link button to attach a link or by using the @ key to create a link within the message.

I complete the process by then using the "Add to my page's favorites" in the left column beneath the liked pages list...I will hide posts from the liked pages on my personal page.

I just wanted to add that I have only been posting on others pages with a link for those pages I have picked up here from Boot Camp...I don't normally post on other pages I like nor do I get a lot of others posting on my page...this Boot Camp activity, however has produced quite a few messages left on my page, which I don't mind...I post often enough myself to not have others postings takeover my page. I believe it has been stated here that you can always delete these posts if they seem to be overwhelming your page, otherwise as someone else stated it gives the page life and interest.

It was kind of my understanding that people were leaving their links on fan pages so that people would reciprocate...once you went to each others fan page, then you could delete that post, no? or you could leave it, no?

A lot of people won't allow you to post on their wall...but a lot of people do...

I kind of assume that the whole posting on the wall thing will die down once everyone gets their 25 initial likes and then builds them up with customers instead of other sellers, right?

How can I get people to see my Page, let alone Like it?

I encourage other artists, crafters, musicians, writers, bloggers to post updates, new listings, special offers, giveaways and the like I my page. In turn, I share these with my broader social networks, primarily twitter, but also linkedin, plurk, myspace too.

I have found that my buyers and clients enjoy seeing these kinds of posts with links to items that are of interest to them.

I discourage (and delete) "I fanned you" type posts. I have Discussion Threads set up for listing FB Pages and other social network sites. I started doing this a long while ago after three herbal clients asked, with a degree of annoyance and clear disinterest, what that was all about? It seems that this has been well received by the most active members of my Page and I've only had two folks respond to this practice in a negative way. So, I've continued this strategy with positive (though less-than-measurable) results.

As for what and how often to post … I post something most every day (except when I'm traveling). I don't post every new item I list, but I do post most of them, just to let folks know there's something new in the studio that they might want to check out. Whenever I have a blog update (a few times a week), I post a link to that too. Sometimes I post just to say hello … and ask what folks are up to that day … or post a reminder to show me new creations and listings so I can share it with others. Occasionally I post articles, videos and links to topics that have an appeal to one segment or another of my followers.

I also make the effort to respond to every post and comment that others make on my Page, after all - it's about the interaction and, as I like to say, about nurturing relationships.

Hello Rose,
I really like how you have your FB Fan page set up, and that you let other crafters post their stuff, and I especially like how you have on your left sidebar, a section for Discussions, Events, a link to your blog, and reviews.
Ever since FB changed things around, I can't seem to figure out how to add Discussions, Events, etc. to my page. Do you, or does anyone else out there know how to add those things listed above???
Also, do I need to be using FB as Linda Reiss, or using FB as The Vintage Diva, while trying to add these?

Sorry, this is "Me" The Vintage Diva" forgot I was logged in under this account!

The best way to promote each other, place a link of each other work/shop on their wall.

I can see that it is a fine line. As Laura said, I don't mind people posting links on my page as after all, we crafters and artists are also buyers. However I can also see it from the point of view as wanting your page to be the most attractive and interactive for customers from the "outside world" who don't know what all this fanning, bootcamp stuff means.

Would love to get some more thoughts...

How do we favorite from our business page or it that only on our personal profile?

Also...Does anyone know, if you can have more than one Fan page per profile?
I want to start a fan page for my Steampunk shop, since I have noticed that their is a huge Steampunk Cult presence on FB.
But...I ALSO want to have an Artfire Kiosk set up for this shop too, once I have some stuff listed in this shop.
So...do I need to make a completely different personal profile, with SteampunkAlley being my fan page attached to that profile, so I can have an Artfire Kiosk on that page???

You can set up additional fan pages from one personal profile. In fact you are only allowed one personal profile on FB...you should be able to install ArtFire Kiosk for another shop to the additional page.

Yes, I have 4 for my separate businesses...

But, you can only authorize the kiosk for one of your artfire shops...

According to the facebook tos, you can only have one personal account...

hope that helps?!?

hmmm. I have 2 personal profiles right now, they are just under a different name, (my second profile just says "Linda Reiss", instead of Linda Shinn Reiss, with my maiden name on the first personal profile I set up). So I am not allowed to do this on FB???  If they figure out that those same 2 personal profiles are the same person, will they delete one of them??
BTW, I didn't set up a second personal profile on purpose, that happened when I was editing personal info for my fan page, I didn't know that is was going to set up a second personal profile.
