Sterling silver rose necklace, shipping costs one penny
This necklace measures 20" in length and is fairly heavy. Each rose weighs on average 4.82 grams. The entire chain weighs over an ounce.
How it was made:
This starts out as 16 gauge sterling silver wire that is formed around a mandrel and then sawed to make the rings. The roses are inserted, those rings are soldered closed, shaped into oblongs and then forged (hammered). The rest of rings are soldered closed and then formed into oblong shapes. Then each link is connected with handmade jump rings which are soldered closed. Last, the bar connector and rings are added to make the clasp.
The chain has been tumbled to 'work harden' the metal and give it its final finish.
