► In Chinese folklore, the rabbit represents hope and is the 4th position in the Chinese Zodiac. People born in the year of the Rabbit are thought to be creative, compassionate, and sensitive - they are outgoing and friendly and prefer the company of others. According to Chinese culture, people born in the year of the Rabbit also prefer to avoid conflict and if found in a confrontational situation, approach the situation calmly. Rabbits believe strongly in friends and family.◀
We purchased this jade carving in Hong Kong during the late 1970's - it measures
approximately 1 5/8" x 1" and weighs approximately 11.6 grams and is in mint condition.
Nephrite jade was used in ancient China and the demand for jadeite is only growing driven in part by China's rising wealth and the rich folklore associated with this stone. The Chinese have long believed that jadeite represents prosperity and longevity.
◉ All the stone beads which we imported back in the 1970s- 1980s - and which I use in all my designs - were precision cut in China with a uniform polish and perfectly round - the pride in workmanship was incredible back then - sadly the majority of the stone beads which are now being imported to this country come from India where labor is cheap and the standards of cutting are no where near those of China over 30 years ago.◉
I've dyed the silk cord a pale green to match the aventurine beads before I have hand knotted each of the 3 strands - this necklace is meant to be worn twisted as shown in the photos.
Vintage Chinese 1970s white cloisonne in a rare barrel shape are framed with different vintage brass beads from Africa and vintage copper rosebud beads. Chinese cloisonne of the 1970s is very collectible and sought after as the workmanship and attention to detail is unsurpassed. Cloisonne which is currently being produced in China is nothing like the quality of these vintage cloisonne beads.
This necklace has been finished on a handmade brass clasp to coordinate with the brass beads - it measures approximately 20" long and the carved jadeite pendant hangs down another 2 1/2" .
This museum quality necklace will arrive in a vintage Chinese embroidered silk brocade purse all ready for gift giving.

Love my beads! The coloring in the epidote was not as intense as illustrated, but it is certainly a good example of the mineral. The colors in the unakite beads are wonderful. The quality of the carving I would rate as good to excellent.
Nice beads!! Super fast thanks a lot!!!
I have dreamed of having a necklace such as the jade one. But the red one. That was a surprise. Both are beautiful. Thank you! Best, Jane
Lovely color;!interesting stones.
When I thought that I had ordered two of these and then checked out I had to order another set. The seller was very kind and combined my two orders and refunded my shipping.
