Antique Chinese Qing Silver Pendant Necklace,Turquoise,Cinnabar,Coral
Antique Chi'ng Dynasty Silver Butterfly Flowers Amulet , Vintage Chinese orange brown Cinnabar,Vintage Chinese turquoise beads,Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Silver Beads ( 1644-1911 ), Vintage Japanese lampwork glass beads 1950, Vintage Natural Gray Chalcedony
This antique Chinese silver amulet pendant is most likely from the Qing Dynasty ( 1644 -1911 ) and features a butterfly on each side in high relief repousse along with two flowers framing what appears to be a peach in the middle. Oxblood coral sits above a turquoise rectangle that is approximately 3/4" long and 1/2" wide. One side of this antique piece of turquoise is smooth and the other side has a tiny perfectly round hole that had been drilled in it which you can see in one of the photos. This silver amulet itself measures approximately 2 1/2" x 2 1/4" with 4 pieces of oxblood coral dangling below creating a lot of movement.
◉ The Chinese butterfly represents love, specifically young love. Happily flitting from flower to flower, it signifies a happy social life for the young. Chinese legend also has it that the Butterfly symbolizes an undying bond between lovers.
◉ Peaches have special significance in Chinese culture - The peach tree is considered to be the tree of life and peaches are symbols of immortality and unity. Peach blossoms are even usually carried by Chinese brides.
Antique Chinese silver pieces such as this amulet pendant are near to impossible to find nowadays - I was very fortunate to find this when I was traveling in Hong Kong during the late 1970s.
This hand knotted beaded necklace features four antique Chinese silver beads also from the Qing or Ch'ing Dynasty and measure approximately 3/4" in diameter.
Vintage Chinese turquoise and natural gray chalcedony beads in a 10mm size ( there are 25mm to the inch ) are both semiprecious stone beads that we personally selected and purchased in Hong Kong during the mid 1980's.
Vintage Japanese lampwork glass beads from the 1950's are approximately 1" long and add another shape and texture.. They blend beautifully with the vintage Chinese amber genuine cinnabar beads from the 1970's.
◉ FOR COORDINATED EARRINGS:
◉ Genuine cinnabar beads are made from a lacquer which is derived from a tree sap found in China. The tree is tapped like a maple and the resulting gum is purified by heating and then made into lacquer by adding a solvent. This resulting lacquer is slowly added in many layers over a wood base. The lacquer can be colored in various hues including black, red, green, yellow and brown although most people are only aware of the red cinnabar.
These many layers of lacquer are then hand carved with intricate designs representing various symbols or images found in nature such as birds and flowers.
In this instance, layers of burnt umber colored lacquer have been added on top of one another to create this stunning effect !
This hand knotted necklace measures approximately 30" long and I have dyed the silk cord a soft taupe color to blend with the gray chalcedony.
◉ This one of a kind museum quality necklace will arrive gift wrapped in a vintage Chinese embroidered silk purse all ready for gift giving.

Love my beads! The coloring in the epidote was not as intense as illustrated, but it is certainly a good example of the mineral. The colors in the unakite beads are wonderful. The quality of the carving I would rate as good to excellent.
Nice beads!! Super fast thanks a lot!!!
I have dreamed of having a necklace such as the jade one. But the red one. That was a surprise. Both are beautiful. Thank you! Best, Jane
Lovely color;!interesting stones.
When I thought that I had ordered two of these and then checked out I had to order another set. The seller was very kind and combined my two orders and refunded my shipping.
