Vintage Chinese Carved Pink Angel Skin Coral Bead Necklace, Vintage Rose Quartz, Vintage 1970s Chinese Cloisonne,Vintage Chinese Porcelain
Vintage hand carved genuine coral beads 1980,Vintage hand painted Chinese porcelain focal bead 1970, Vintage rose quartz beads,Vintage cloisonne beads 1970s, German silver glass
This hand knotted asymmetrical 30" long necklace boasts an assortment of vintage beads in shades of pink and coral. The focal bead is almost 2" long - a hand painted Chinese white porcelain bead adorned with peaches and flowers. Two other 14mm porcelain beads showcase the same Chinese theme of peach blossoms.
This focal bead is framed by vintage 1950s West German silver glass beads and 6 ornately carved vintage Chinese angel skin coral beads in a 13mm size ( about 1/2") - total weight is approximately 19 grams!
Coral is the hard skeleton created by tiny marine organisms known as "coral polyps". Corals live in warm water oceans all over the world, and their habitat has been steadily disappearing because of human water pollution and over fishing.
Since coral collection and mining was banned worldwide in 1992, it is very difficult to find such beads as these in the bead trade! The U.S also currently has a ban on importing corals .
Next to red (oxblood)and dark orange, angel skin( pink and white ) is the most desired and most valuable.
Increasing popularity and decreasing supply has driven up coral prices dramatically in the last few years. Fine quality angel skin coral like this is virtually unobtainable and well polished beads such as these are extremely scarce if even available .
As with faceted gems, fine coral like this is sold by weight.
There are also vintage Chinese cloisonne beads that are 22mm long ( there are 25mm to the inch ! ) and a large 18mm hand carved rose quartz bead in a melon twist shape - a shape so characteristic of the 1970s - 1980's in Asia.
◉ Vintage cloisonne beads from this time period are very sought after and collectible as the workmanship is meticulous and exquisite unlike the cloisonne that is being produced in China currently.
Vintage beautifully translucent pink rose quartz beads in a 10mm size make up the rest of the necklace which has been hand knotted on silk cord dyed pink to match the beads.
These beads were personally selected by me in Hong Kong during the early 1980s - beads cut, polished and drilled in China during this time period were top top quality with the cutters taking great pride in their workmanship. Nowadays most stone beads are being cut and imported into the US from India where labor is cheap and the standards of workmanship are nowhere near those of Asia during the 1970s-1980s.
This necklace will arrive in a vintage Chinese embroidered silk brocade purse all ready for gift giving.

ORDERS OUTSIDE USA: International First Class rates are now crazy: $16.50 for any package weighing from 1-5 ounces. Even an order for 2-3 small bead items may cost $16.50 or more, depending on the type of material (stone versus resin, for example). We apologize in advance if we have to adjust the postage cost of an order that has been placed. We will understand if an order is rescinded when the postage cost is too high relative to the product value.
All international orders have contents described as "loose beads" and are flagged as "commercial samples" or " gift" if you prefer to make your life easier when receiving your beads. If you'd like us to mark your order as " gift" instead please let us know!

Love my beads! The coloring in the epidote was not as intense as illustrated, but it is certainly a good example of the mineral. The colors in the unakite beads are wonderful. The quality of the carving I would rate as good to excellent.
Nice beads!! Super fast thanks a lot!!!
I have dreamed of having a necklace such as the jade one. But the red one. That was a surprise. Both are beautiful. Thank you! Best, Jane
Lovely color;!interesting stones.
When I thought that I had ordered two of these and then checked out I had to order another set. The seller was very kind and combined my two orders and refunded my shipping.
