To know more about Khatamkari please read the full description at the end of this page : The woods used: Wallnut wood ,JUJUBE wood , SOUR ORANGE TREE, MARPLE Tree , BOX TREE, EBONY BETEL, LOGWOOD Some are used in their natural colours but some of these woods are dyed to give them the appropriate colours. Shell : Natural white or coloured sea shell. The metals used are: Brass which is used to make the bright golden color parts and Silver to make the bright white colour Seashells : are used in Khatam Handicrafts to give them more strength and beauty and to make the shiny white colour parts. Other materials used are : Glue Lac and polyester for the finishing touch. To maintain this products beauty please keep it away from moisture, direct sunlight and high temperature and do not use wet cloths or chemical polishers to clean it.
