Hand-dyed Turquoise Hand-knit Socks: Custom Order
These socks are knitted to order, as the originals have sold; the hand dyed 100% merino wool hand knitted socks in lovely shades of turquoise through golden ochre or a colorway of your choice. Please email/convo for available colors and I will photograph the yarns which meet your request.
These are hem topped socks, which means that there is nothing to be tight around the ankle or dig in. Size would range from 10-12 for women, to 8-10 for men; these are rather generously sized around, so at least a medium (would probably be too large for a narrow foot, unless you preferred it roomy).
Because these are wool, they will felt if washed in warm or hot water and thrown in the dryer. I recommend hand washing in a little shampoo and conditioner, rinsing thoroughly, rolling in a towel and pressing out the extra moisture, and then laying them flat to dry. The wool responds very well to the same treatment as hair, hence the shampoo. They will wear for many years if cared for like this. Wool actually wicks moisture away from the skin, and doesn't become wet and soggy like cotton does.

Generally speaking, we try to ship the day after receiving notice of payment, if it is a working day. Custom items or things which need altering may take longer, and we will have that conversation immediately so there are no missed expectations.
Either USPS or UPS are our preferred methods for shipping, and though we may estimate a price for the listing, we always go with the least expensive cost and refund any difference. You can be assured that you are paying actual shipping for one item, or many. If you need something in a hurry, we can figure out what would work best for you.
We always hope that you are completely satisfied with what you order from us, and offer multiple pictures of each item to make sure that you have confidence in your purchase. However, we have no control over the color or resolution of other folks' computer monitors, so please ask questions up front if you have any concerns about making a color match, or particular aspect of an item.
If you are shopping for a gift, and are not sure that the item will fit, please let us know; it may be possible to send a sample card and have the person pick what they want in color and size (like hand knitted socks, for instance). If not, then maybe we can save you the effort and find something else that might work better. If you order something custom, we require the item be pre-paid; should it not meet expectations based on the written agreement which the customer will receive and sign prior to making the item, usual return policy will apply. We are happy to list items for sale which meet original condition, even if they were first custom-ordered. Should this be something very unusual, and not be suitable for re-sale, that would be part of the initial discussion and agreement.
We will accept an item in return, should you find it not what you were expecting, but you will have to pay it's way back to us. If it returns in its original condition, we will be happy to refund the purchase price to the same account used for the purchase. Please contact us first with your intent to return, and let us know what went wrong....we will be insuring most items depending on purchase price, and should something be lost in transit or arrive damaged, please inform us as soon as you can, so we can institute the process for reimbursement. Ultimately, we want you to be as happy with your purchase as we were making it, so let us know what you need to be happy. The pictures you see are exactly what we are sending; we appreciate the courtesy of receiving returns in the same condition.
Should you live somewhere other than the USA, please contact us with your shipping address so we can figure correct shipping to you before you purchase. We don't want any unhappy surprises due to shipping costs.
Any customs or taxes are the responsibility of the customer, and we will post actual cost in any declaration required. Some countries have a reputation for 'losing' postal deliveries; since our items are one of a kind, we are unable to replace something that doesn't arrive, so please consider your unique situation prior to ordering from us, and request whatever insurance will lessen the likelihood of personal loss, or compensate you accordingly.
