Rhyolite and Antique Copper Earrings

Image Description
Rich leafy green rhyolite and olive green serpentine stones are set against dark copper in these natural stone dangle earrings. I used rhyolite (a trade name for rainforest jasper, I think) beads that are pointy-ended ovals about ½-inch wide x ¾-inch long (13 x 22mm). The natural stone beads have a smooth surface but they are not highly polished. I worked the stones into an earring dangle by stringing a copper wire through them and across the surface forming a zig-zag or lightening bolt decoration there. At the top of the bead, I coiled the copper wire neatly, inserted a small olive green serpentine bead and then finished the dangle with a loop for hanging. I made a medium shepherd's hook earwire from pure copper wire. The dark rustic brown of the antiqued copper is an earthy complement to the predominately green stones. * Earthy natural stone and copper earrings are perfect for fall * Green rhyolite stones are mottled with dark and light green colors and mossy silhouettes * Small olive green "jade" (serpentine) bead accents the top of the design * Earrings hang 2.25 inches from the piercing (~57mm) These artisan copper and stone earrings would make a great autumn wardrobe statement or Thanksgiving hostess gift. Wear them with the green, rust, maroon, gold, and brown tones so popular in fall. They'll even go with rich purple.
