Long Two Layer Necklace With Green Line Jasper, Moss Agate and Glass

Image Description
Beautiful, polished beads of green line jasper and moss agate lend their beauty to this stylish handmade necklace. Two long strands of semi-precious stones and glass beads alternate with shades of olive green and pine. Glam up this autumn and winter with cool greens and earth tones. This design throws symmetry out of the room like yesterdays' conventions. Who needs them? This pattern is intentionally askew, and all the more lovely for it. The large round discs are green line jasper, and the oval stones are moss agate. I used a mixture of jasper chips and glass beads in shades of satin olive, mint, and pine greens. The base, or 'background', is composed of seed beads in metallic olive. The beads are strung on nylon coated jewelry wire and crimped at the ends with special sleeves that support and reinforce the wire. Silver plated chandelier findings keep the strands separated. The top strand measures 26 inches, and that's the shortest length it can be worn at. The bottom layer is about 27.5 to 28 inches long. A brass extension chain, trimmed with a bead of picture jasper, allows for 4.5 more inches of adjusting. The lobster claw clasp and chandelier finding make for easy clasping.
