I started doing pottery in college and took a very long break from it. I started back when I found the Kiln Room at my daughter's new school was infested with huge dust bunnies, and soon had my own wheel and kiln.
Family circumstances led me to take a lengthy hiatus from clay, and I found myself drawn to rocks and minerals and was soon making jewelry. I love to pick out special stones and then wrap them lovingly, showing off the stone. I have been studying metalsmithing in order to use different techniques to enhance stones, but I remain drawn to letting the stone star in my pieces.
I am slowly getting back into clay and hope to have a better selection soon. I have been dabbling in colored clay for 20 years and it keeps calling to me!
